Chilipad by Sleepme is a leader in sleep technology, best known for its Chilipad Dock Pro and Chilipad Cube, active cooling mattress pads that regulate bed temperature between 55°–115°F. Built on the mission to elevate the quality of human life through cool sleep, Chilipad helps customers—ranging from menopausal women to performance-driven professionals—overcome challenges like hot flashes, night sweats, and poor recovery. The brand’s promise is simple: when you sleep cool, you wake up ready to conquer.
The Challenge
As a high AOV product, the Chilipad isn’t an impulse buy. Customers often take time to research, weigh their options, and consider the value before purchasing. Increasingly, shoppers were asking whether they could use their HSA or FSA funds to offset the cost, but Chilipad had no way to support these payments at checkout. The result was lost sales, abandoned carts, and an uptick in support tickets from customers eager to use their pre-tax benefits.
Why They Chose Flex
Chilipad partnered with Flex to add HSA/FSA acceptance directly into checkout. Because of their headless website implementation, speed was a priority—and Flex’s platform proved to be the fastest and easiest option to launch.

In addition to enabling seamless payments, Chilipad launched an omnichannel HSA/FSA campaign and built a dedicated landing page leveraging Flex’s Marketing Guides. This landing page now captures organic search traffic and serves as a hub for email and paid campaigns.
Flex also provided clear reporting and dashboard tools, which the Chilipad team uses to track performance over time. By looking historically at key campaigns and customer cohorts, Chilipad can quantify the incremental value Flex adds, helping ensure every tool in its stack drives measurable growth.
Impact Since Launch
The results were immediate. The HSA/FSA ad campaign saw Click Through Rates (CTRs) that were 8.3% higher than other campaigns. Similarly, its new email campaign had open rates that were 5.3% higher. And lastly, Chilipad discovered that customers paying with Flex returned products ~40% less often than other customers.
Beyond the numbers, customer response was overwhelmingly positive. With HSA/FSA now available, customers who once hesitated were more confident in completing their purchase, leading to higher conversion and a smoother path to checkout.
